Privacy Policy
What we collect when you use PaceCut, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
Who is responsible

What we collect
- Account: your email, name if you give one, sign-in method and account status.
- Your content: the footage, audio and text you upload, the transcripts and edits we make from it, and your Chat messages.
- Usage: what you do in the app (sign-ins, uploads, generations, edits, exports), the AI cost of each request, and error reports, including the page where an error happened.
- Feedback you send us in the app.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you asked for: storing your media and making, editing and exporting your videos (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep the service secure, enforce fair-use limits, find and fix errors and control costs (our legitimate interests).
- To answer your support requests and feedback.
We do not sell your data, show ads or use analytics or tracking cookies. [Whether AI providers may retain or train on submitted content, per their terms, to confirm.]

Cookies and storage
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in (up to 30 days of inactivity) and short-lived cookies during Google or Apple sign-in. Your browser also stores a few interface preferences, such as mute and panel visibility. None of these track you across sites, so no consent banner is needed.
How long we keep it
- Projects and media stay until you delete them. Deleting a project or file removes its stored media.
- Account, usage and activity records stay while your account exists.
- When your account is deleted we remove your account, projects, media, transcripts, edits and Chat messages, including our internal record of rows deleted earlier. We keep a minimal record that you asked for deletion and when it was done, and any payment records we must keep by law. [Statutory period for payment records to confirm.]
- We do not currently keep database backups. If we add them, deleted data will leave them when they expire. [Backup retention to confirm.]
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and complain to your data protection authority. We will confirm it is you before acting and reply within one month.
Deleting your account
Signed in to the account you want deleted? Send the request here. We then email your account address to confirm before deleting anything. If you can't sign in, contact us from that email address.
